In this long-burning process that reaches temperatures with an energy value of 31,700 kJ / kg, the tars that are produced are acidic and the result is a uniform carbonization, very rich in energy. The charcoal produced with this method has dimensions ranging from 4 to 12 cm. that once introduced into the kamado firebox, they favor an optimal air flow, which does not happen if the pieces of coal are too small.
Thanks to the perfect composition, this type of charcoal can be ignited very quickly and in 10 – 15 minutes it can reach a temperature of 200 – 250 ° C.

TIP: HOW TO RAPIDLY LIGHT THE CHARCOAL
- Fill the charcoal basket or firebox with high quality and initially thicker charcoal. For the best grilling results, we recommend our tested and certified Monolith Food Toxic Free Charcoal.
- Light the charcoal from above if possible with the Mono-lighter (lighter), close the lid of the Monolith and fully open the lower air inlet and air outlet, the shot. Thanks to the chimney effect, the barbecue will heat up quickly.
- The temperature of the kamado Monolith can be controlled and adjusted by the air supply (opening in the base) and the draft (exhaust valve located above). Depending on the type of cooking, direct or indirect, you can use the accessories you want.
